what’s my fascination with benches?

i guess it’s that benches seem to encourage a sense of community.  benches are about groups of people — sitting together, sharing space.

a chair, on the other hand, can only seat one person at a time.  by their very nature, chairs are exclusive.

i guess i like what benches do.  and what they have to say.  I just wish that people were more like benches and less like chairs . . .
